Why This Site Exists
ChocoVanillaFurries started because we got tired of reading product reviews written by people who clearly never owned a cat. Every “best cat litter” list online was written by someone who’d never scooped a box. Every automatic feeder review was four affiliate links stacked on a copy-pasted product description. We wanted reviews from real cat parents — with our cats themselves as test subjects. So we made it.
Why the Name
The name says it all. Rum, our white patriarch, represents the vanilla. Stella, our dark chocolate queen, is the choco. Together they had Thor and Loki — the chaos duo that turned our two-cat home into the four-cat family we are today. From our cats to yours.
Meet the Test Team
Rum 🤍 — Our Vanilla
The white patriarch. Calm, gentle, inspects every new thing with quiet dignity before granting approval. Dad to Thor and Loki. If Rum is skeptical of a product, we take it seriously — he’s rarely wrong.
Stella 🤎 — Our Choco
The dark chocolate queen. Food critic, household commander, and the reason we care so much about quality. If Stella won’t eat it, we don’t recommend it. Period.
Thor 🧑 — Our Cuddle Tester
Our cuddliest cat. Thor runs to the bed, jumps up, and purrs on contact. Round, confident, chronically affectionate. He’s our universal comfort tester — if Thor curls up on something, it’s comfortable enough for any cat.
Loki 🤎🤍 — Our Durability Tester
The combo kid. Light brown, equal parts Rum’s calm and Stella’s mischief. Tests every toy’s durability with chaotic precision. If Loki can’t destroy it in a week, it’s a keeper.

How We Test
- Every product lives in our home for at least two weeks before we review it.
- We score on five metrics: safety, effectiveness, odor/mess control, ease of use, long-term value.
- We cross-check our findings against verified Amazon reviews, Reddit cat communities, and vet guidance.
- We only publish reviews of products we’d keep using after testing ends.
- Commissions never determine rankings. If a free product doesn’t earn a recommendation, we don’t publish it.
